Heritage Colours Festival And Jelajah Warisan Kl Bring Kuala Lumpur Railway Station To Life Through Heritage And Community Activation
KUALA LUMPUR, 26 JUNE 2026 – Railway Assets Corporation (RAC) is hosting The Heritage Colours Festival, a three-day festival held from 26 to 28 June 2026 at Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
The opening day began with the Jelajah Warisan KL programme, a focused engagement session that brought together key stakeholders to experience firsthand the progress and activation efforts at the site. This is the 2nd Jelajah Warisan KL, following Stadium Merdeka, which was organised by PNB Merdeka Ventures early in the year.
The programme was graced by Datuk Seri TPr Fadlun bin Mak Ujud, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Dato’ Mohamed Nasri Sallehuddin, Warisan KL Joint Secretariat representative, (to insert RAC CEO), along with senior management from RAC and KTMB, key stakeholders from DBKL, Think City and surrounding communities, reflecting strong inter-partnership collaboration in advancing Warisan KL’s heritage preservation agenda.
As a working committee-level initiative, Jelajah Warisan KL showcased the development progress of the heritage landmark and demonstrated how curated activations can foster meaningful placemaking and strengthen community connections. Participants took part in a guided walkthrough of the station, including briefings on its historical narrative, restoration efforts and future aspirations, alongside curated cultural activations.
The festival aims to celebrate and promote the heritage, culture and history of Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, one of Malaysia’s iconic heritage landmarks. Through a variety of engaging, interactive and family-friendly activities, the festival seeks to foster greater public appreciation of the station’s historical and cultural significance, in alignment with the broader aspirations of the national Warisan KL vision to revive Kuala Lumpur’s soul by restoring and reimagining its built heritage, while contributing to a more liveable city and driving growth in tourism, community enterprise and commerce.
Throughout the three-day event, visitors can enjoy a wide range of exciting activities, including traditional dance performances, busker performances, local vendor booths, colouring competitions, health booths, pocket talk sessions as well as various interactive activities highlighting local arts, culture and heritage.
In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on arts and handicraft activities such as batik painting, basket weaving, crochet making, traditional games and songket weaving. These activities aim at introducing and nurture appreciation for Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage.
